Authorities report a North Little Rock man was arrested over the weekend in Batesville after being involved in a Sharp County robbery.

Arkansas State Police spotted the Toyota Camry that was involved in the robbery on Hwy 167 Saturday afternoon.

Authorities stated the Toyota Camry took off at a high rate of speed, forcing other vehicles off the road and almost striking an Independence County patrol vehicle.

The suspect ran two red lights on Highway and was moving at speeds approaching 120 mph. 

ASP initiated a tactical vehicle intervention on the Camry and rammed the vehicle into a ditch.

Jeremiah Jerome Johnson age 25, fled on foot into the woods where he was chased and apprehended by Arkansas State Police Troopers after a brief fight.

Johnson’s has pending charges in Sharp County, but he is also on parole.

Johnson is charged with a felony count of fleeing, felony count of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and multiple misdemeanor charges.

Johnson is also being charged as a habitual offender. 

Johnson’s bond was set at $50,000, he was transferred to the Sharp County Jail this week.
