Doris Jean Highfield, 84 of Walnut Ridge passed away October 13, 2023, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born July 14, 1939, in Alicia to the late Roy and Doris Allison Blanchard. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Earl Highfield on December 21, 1958. Doris was of the Baptist faith and loved her church along with many other things such as playing the piano, flowers, and teaching one of her great granddaughters how to play the piano and riding bicycles with the other. She spent most of her career as a teacher, and retired working for DHS.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a son, Earl Jay Highfield; a brother, Roy B. Blanchard; a sister, Linda K. Bales.
Survivors include her husband Earl Highfield of the home; a son, Eric (Lori) Highfield of Smithville; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Joey) Gill, Trey Highfield, Christin (Nick) Brown, Erica (Alex) Teel, and Emily (Baron) Estes; eight great grandchildren, Tyler Ditto, Presley, Zoey, Oakley, and Davy Brown, Paisley and Jaxton Teel, and Hudson Estes; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge from 5 PM to 7 PM with Bro. John Durham officiating.
