POWHATAN – Lake Charles State Park will host guided kayak tours on Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the park, 3705 Hwy. 25, Powhatan. The tour is $18 plus tax per adult and $12 plus tax per children ages 6-12. Space is limited and registration is required.
A limited number of tandem kayaks will be available for children 6-10 to ride with an adult. Participants must be 10 years or older to paddle a boat solo. Children under the age of 6 are not permitted.
Park interpreters will highlight basic kayaking skills. During the tour, they will discuss Arkansas flora and fauna, and the history of Lake Charles.
