James R. Byrd, 86, of Imboden passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
Born on November 28, 1936, in Pollard, Arkansas; son of the late Helen Noreen and Shirley Lee Byrd. James was a pipe liner and truck driver. He is a member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and he loved the Lord. He is a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He loved riding motorcycles and working with the CMA Group. He loved living on the farm and all his animals. He also loved Oscar and Hank, who were his best friends.
James is preceded in death by his parent; his first wife of 40 years Patsy Stratton Byrd; a son Cress Lee Byrd; and stepson Ronnie Green.
James is survived by his wife of 13 years, Willene Byrd of the home; one daughter Patrice Junkersfeld of Maynard; one son Trent Byrd of Imboden; two stepdaughters, Debbie (Glen) Mans of Imboden and Patsy (Anthony) Mitchell of Black Rock; one stepdaughter in law Danita Green of Jonesboro; grandchildren Coty (Erica) Junkersfeld, Tanner Lee Byrd, Brandy Hammond, Samantha Perrin, Lesley (Casey) Faulkner, Jeff Young, Rodney (Amber) Green, Wendy (Eric) French, Dustin Mans, Jake (Jerica) Mans, Latricia (Drew) Meyer, Amanda (Jamie)Ferrell, Erika (Adam) Bosold. Many great grandkids, family, and friends.
He will be greatly missed by all.
All services will be held in the chapel of Hope Gardens Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with the service to immediately follow with Pastor Jerry Clements and Coty Junkersfeld officiating.
