With the assistance of the JPD SWAT team, our Internet Crimes Against Children Division made an arrest early Tuesday morning in a child exploitation case they have been working on since July.

JPD received a cyber tip stating that a Dropbox user uploaded several images depicting child exploitation to an account in July of this year. Dropbox provided that the owner of the account was Jonathan Carmichael.

Detectives received a search warrant for the account and discovered approximately 60-70 pictures and videos representing sexually exploited juvenile males by adults.

On August 15th, JPD ICAC executed a search warrant on Mr. Charmichael’s residence and placed him into custody on a Possession or Use of Child Sexual Abuse Material charge. He appeared before a judge today and received a $35,000 bond.
