Marty Gene Melton, 58 of Walnut Ridge; died Tuesday July 25, 2023, while working on the river boat.
Born October 23, 1964, in Jonesboro, son of the late, Calvin Eugene and Barbara Taylor Melton. Marty worked as Tow Boat Captain and his second home was on the water. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was an active member of the Rock of Jonesboro, and he loved reading and talking about Jesus.
He is preceded by his parents; maternal grandparents, Ralph, and Paralee Taylor; and his paternal grandfather, Clinton Melton.
Survivors include his son, Matthew Melton (Danielle) of Jonesboro; his daughter, Amber Radford (Jotham) of Pace, FL; eight grandchildren, Zachary, Josie, Jordan, Lucas, Elizabeth, Molly, Cooper, and Lydia; his sister, Pam Foreman of Walnut Ridge; his paternal grandmother, Clara Melton of Jonesboro; his niece, Brandy Sawyer of Egypt; and two great nephews, Ryan, and McCartney; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 2 P.M. till 3 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel in Hoxie. Bro. Terry Watson will officiate at 3 P.M. with a memorial service.
