This week, three veteran firefighters of the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department were honored for their retirement.
Steve Jones, Jim Jones and Mike Cameron all retired from the IVFD after decades of service to the department and community.
Jim Jones, who retired as Chief of the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department after 60 years of service joined the department at the age of 16 and served as a firefighter for 10 years, Assistant Chief for 42 years and Chief for the last 8 years.
Jones said he’s proud of how far the department has come over the years. Imboden is a Class 2 department. Jones said he was also proud that under his tenure no firefighters have been seriously injured.

Jim Jones stated he is retiring as Chief but still plans to volunteer for the department, Steve Jones has 50 years of service and Mike Cameron has over 40 years of service. Over 150 years combined service for these 3 firefighters.
