Shortly before 1pm on Friday, Lawrence County Dispatch was contacted by Randolph County authorities that were looking for a vehicle that was being tracked by a cell phone possibly in the area of Hwy 67 and Hwy 34 In Pocahontas.

Law enforcement from Indiana contacted Randolph County authorities telling them the suspects had been involved in a robbery in Terre Haute Indiana.

Law enforcement from Randolph County, Lawrence County, Walnut Ridge Police, Hoxie, and Arkansas State Police were all notified and attempted to locate the suspect vehicle described as a small white SUV.

The vehicle was tracked as it went through Randolph, Lawrence, then Jackson County.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received information that the suspect vehicle was driving on US Highway 67 in Jackson County.

Jackson County Deputies made contact with the vehicle coming into Newport.

After attempting to Initiate a felony traffic stoo. the vehicle sped off back to the interstate.

At this time, Deputies advised they were in pursuit.

After turning back onto the interstate. the vehicle began weaving in and
out of traftic during forrental rains.

The vehicle crashed near the 81-mile mark, and after a short foot pursuit, three individuals were taken into custody.

During the arrest, a large amount of US currency was recovered.

Jackson County authorities expressed their thanks to the Arkansas State Police and Newport Police Department, who assisted Jackson County Deputies during this incident.
