In recent weeks, Detectives with the JPD Internet Crimes Against Children Division have received numerous cyber tips regarding images depicting child exploitation uploaded onto a Jonesboro resident’s social media page.

Officers retrieved the address, and on July 6th, the ICAC Division executed a search warrant at the home of Lonnie Simpson Jr.

Detectives located computers, cellular phones, video cameras, and tapes to be analyzed by our forensics team. They also discovered zip-lock bags containing a small bra, a sleeping pill, panties belonging to a child, and hair.

Detectives found numerous images of child exploitation on his electronic devices. An arrest warrant was issued, and he was arrested on Sunday and taken to CCDC. He appeared before a judge today and received a 100,000 cash surety bond, an ankle monitor, and can not have internet access upon release.

Great work to both the ICAC detectives and the JPD SWAT team.
