Authorities have identified a man found deceased in a lake near Cherokee Village
According to Cherokee Village Police, Derek Hughes age 35 was found dead in Lake Cherokee around noon Tuesday, May 16th.
Hughes was reported missing on late Saturday, May 13th according to a news release, witnesses reported seeing Hughes leave the Copper Feather Bar & Grille intoxicated.
Authorities say It was unclear if Hughes had left on foot or in a vehicle, Investigators pinged his cell phone, but the last location according to the cell phone provider the last ping was at the Copper Feather.
Hughes’s body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for an autopsy.
Authorities ask that anyone with information on this case should contact the Cherokee Village Police.
