Authorities say an Izard County man is currently in custody and charged with 55 counts of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child following his arrest April 20th.
Terry Johnson Jr. age 40 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested and charged following an instigation into reports that Johnson had uploaded or exchanged material involving children on more than 15 occasions between April and June of 2022.
According to investigators, a series of reports were made to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children beginning in April 2022 after Johnson’s phone was flagged for content that contained inappropriate material.
Authorities say from that date, until June 22, Johnson’s phone was flagged a total of 18 times for child pornography.
Arkansas State Police began receiving files from the NCMEC May 6, 2022 and opened their investigation.
Search warrants were issued for Johnson’s e-mail accounts, phone, and social media account.
The warrants yielded a multitude of disturbing images, including multiple firearm and ammo purchases, links to child pornography websites and dark web links to violent acts conducted against children, bestiality, searches of violent pornography and a search for “how to make chloroform”.
Johnson was arrested, taken into custody and charged with 55 counts of possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving.
Bond for Johnson was set at $200,000.
