At 8:50 am on Thursday law enforcement trying to make contact with a wanted subject identified as Dustin Zimmerman were led on a foot pursuit that lasted several hours. Zimmerman fled from a residence on 5th Street in Black Rock wearing what was described as only light blue boxer shorts and boots.

Officers from Lawrence County, Black Rock, Arkansas Probation and Parole and Arkansas State Police converged on the area in an attempt to locate the subject.

At one point a drone was launched by the Arkansas State Police in an effort to spot the suspect.

Officers continued the search of the area until at 12:45pm the Lawrence County Dispatch received a call reporting a male subject in boxers and boots walking on the railroad tracks toward the Portia area.

Units from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas State Police and Ravenden Police Department set up a perimeter in the area of tracks between Black Rock and Portia and began searching for the suspect.

At 12:55pm trains were stopped at the request of officials while the search continued along the tracks.

At 2:35pm Zimmerman was taken into custody by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center.

Zimmerman is a parolee with numerous charges from both Craighead and Lawrence Counties.
