At approximately 4:36 p.m., Paragould Emergency Services received 911 calls regarding a motorcycle versus vehicle crash on Hwy 412 West, just east of Hwy 168 North. Upon unit’s arrival, the operator of the motorcycle was found in critical condition. EMS arrived to begin treatment while awaiting a medical helicopter to arrive. The motorcycle operator was flown to an unknown hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported in this crash.

Just as units were clearing the above crash site at approximately 5:44 p.m., Paragould Emergency Services received multiple 911 calls regarding a multi-vehicle crash on Hwy 49 South just north of the Greene / Craighead County line. Upon arrival at this scene, it was learned that five vehicles were involved in the crash. Injury assessment began immediately, and EMS began treating patients in order of injury severity. Once again, a medical helicopter was summoned for the operator of one of the vehicles. The roadway was cleared from this crash at approximately 7:08 p.m.

The conditions of those flown out, as well as any others who were injured in these crashes, are not known. Both crashes are under investigation by the Arkansas State Police. No further information will be released by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
