Gary L. Tate, 42 of Powhatan, passed away January 10, 2023, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
Born February 25, 1980, in Bono; son of the late Garry Lynn Tate and Brenda Henson Vandergriff. He was united in marriage to Betty Jarrett on September 21, 2002. Gary was a public servant, dedicated his life to helping his fellow Arkansans; he worked in law enforcement with the Pocahontas and Walnut Ridge Police Departments, Randolph, and Lawrence County Sheriff’s office. He was a loving husband, father, and friend; he enjoyed creating Art and Cooking, especially BBQ.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; three children, Dylan, Emily and Klayton; a sister, Jessica (Willie) Pinkston; his brothers and sisters in Blue; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 2 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel with Bro Derek Collins and Sheriff Tony Waldrupe officiating. Interment of his cremains will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 P.M. till 8 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel.
