A pursuit by law enforcement officers from Craighead County on Sunday entered Lawrence County around 3 pm.
Jonesboro dispatch notified Lawrence County officials that they were in a pursuit with a suicidal male subject in a pewter colored truck. The chase was at that time in Bono heading Hwy 63 north toward Lawrence County.
The suspect was reportedly threatening to shoot at law enforcement during the chase.
Units from Hoxie Police, Walnut Ridge Police, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas State Police all converged on the area, closing traffic at intersections and on ramps.
At 3:09 pm as local law enforcement closed off and diverted traffic, officers were advised the suspect had stopped just south of Sedgwick and Jonesboro officers were out with the suspect negotiating with the man.
A medical unit from Medic One was staged near the scene and medical helicopter was placed on standby as negotiations continued.
As a precaution Hwy 63 was closed to traffic.
At 3:39 pm the officers negotiated an end to the situation. Law enforcement reopened Hwy 63 as the scene was cleared.
No suspect information has been released at this time.
