On Friday a visit from Probation and Parole Officers landed a Smithville man behind bars.
Mark Clifton was arrested at a residence on Lawrence 269 after Probation and Parole Officers along with Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies made a home visit and discovered drug paraphernalia.
Clifton was also listed as a parole absconder and not in compliance.
Clifton was arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center, he is currently charged with Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia (Felony) and Failure To Appear (Felony).
Records show Clifton has a lengthy criminal record including numerous drug charges, battery charges, Breaking and Entering charges and multiple parole/probation violations.
