Pocahontas Police spotted a stolen vehicle in Randolph County and a pursuit followed that ended with the suspect crashing into a law enforcement vehicle.
At 5:19 pm on Wednesday the Lawrence County Dispatch received notification from Randolph County that Pocahontas Police Department and RCSO officers were in pursuit of a stolen white Ford Ranger with Tennessee plates. Officers reported the chase was traveling Hwy 62 toward Imboden at 70 mph.
Officers from Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office responded toward the area. The suspect vehicle closely followed by Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputies entered Lawrence County on Hwy 62 at 5:24 pm and continued south on Hwy 63 toward Black Rock.
Sheriff’s Deputies set up spike strips near Lawrence 219 (Clear Springs Road) but before the vehicle reached the spike strips officers stated it turned off and collided with a law enforcement vehicle. No injuries were reported, two suspects were arrested by authorities.
The suspect names have not been released at this time.
The Arkansas State Police has been requested to investigate the crash.
