A pursuit through Lawrence County ended in a two vehicle accident on Hwy 63 near Sedgwick.
Authorities first became aware of a reckless driver after Sharp County received calls reporting the Dodge Challenger traveling at a high rate of speed and passing vehicles at a high rate of speed near the Lawrence/Sharp County line traveling southbound.
As law enforcement responded to the area, the vehicle passed a Lawrence County unit south of Imboden at 115 mph. The deputy turned around and attempted to pursue the vehicle. Walnut Ridge Police, Hoxie Police and Arkansas State Police were all notified of the high speed vehicle.
At 8:36 pm officers stated they were in pursuit of the vehicle that was captured on radar at 130 mph as it approached Hwy 367 at Hoxie. Officials then reported the vehicle was clocked on radar at 150 mph.
At 8:40 pm, officers reported the vehicle was involved in an accident with another vehicle while fleeing from police.
Sedgwick Fire Department and an ambulance responded to the scene of the two vehicle accident.
At 8:44 pm officers reported the suspect was uninjured and in custody. One person in the second vehicle was reported injured.
No names have been released at this time.
The accident is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police.
