Shortly after 4 pm on Tuesday, the Lawrence County Dispatch received numerous 911 calls reporting several shots being fired in the area of the 1100 Block of SE Front Street in Walnut Ridge.
Law enforcement officers from Walnut Ridge, Hoxie and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area.
Officers surrounded a residence in the area and at 4:23 pm detained two subjects from the residence. Sources confirmed a handgun was recovered in a bedroom believed to be the weapon used in the shooting incident.
Damage was reported to at least one home from the bullets, that residence was located on Jefferson Street.
One suspect was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center. Identities have not been released at this time, no injuries were reported in the incident.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
