Shortly after 1am on Monday morning, Sheriff Kevin Bell was notified by a monitoring agency of a suspect out on bond with an ankle monitoring device near his residence, shortly after a disturbance was reported at the Sheriff’s residence.

The suspect, identified as Bryan Keith Rogers of Biggers fled from officers responding toward Imboden on Hwy 62. Lawrence County Deputies responded to the area of the Lawrence/Randolph County line to attempt to intercept the suspect.

At one point the suspect vehicle was intercepted by Randolph County authorities on Muddy Lane in Randolph County, where the suspect reportedly rammed a Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputy’s vehicle.

The suspect then turned back toward Pocahontas on Hwy 62. Lawrence and Randolph County Deputies continued to pursue the vehicle. At some point during the pursuit, the suspect began firing a weapon, at law enforcement.

The pursuit was said to have traveled down Hoelscher Lane before coming to an end near Black’s Ferry bridge . That’s when sources say after an exchange of gunfire the suspect surrendered to authorities.

The suspect was taken to the Lawrence County Detention Center to await formal charges.

Thankfully No injuries were reported in the incident.
