Arkansas State Police Special agents are investigating a homicide in Marion County.
According to a press release from the ASP, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department responded Monday to a reported home intruder around 11:15 p.m. at a residence on Hwy 235, south of Yellville.
When officers arrived, they discovered the body of Daniel W. Stine, age 80, the victim of an gunshot wound.
The ASP release stated the sheriff’s department requested special agents from the Arkansas State Police and that the agents entered the home to investigate the crime scene.
The body was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory.
The state police stated in the release that a family member was reportedly inside the house at the time of the shooting and has been questioned by authorities.
