Izard County Sheriff’s Department reported the arrest of a man on drug charges last week. Investigators assisted by Arkansas Community Corrections Offices conducted a home visit at a residence on Pleasent Vally Road in Calico Rock. 

Authorities contacted the property owner and resident, identified as Carl Marentette, age 59.

Officers knocked on a door to the home, law enforcement stated the suspect Marentette rushed to a back room and returned a few moments later. 

Authorities were allowed inside for the home visit. 

When asked why he ran to the backroom, he stated that he had to put on a pair of pants. 

Officers then began to search the home. 

A clear plastic zip bag containing a white crystalline substance was discovered by authorities.

The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine. 

Marentette was charged with felony failure to maintain a drug premise and an enhanced felony charge for possession of a controlled substance. 

His bond was set at $10,000.
