According to authorities one person died in a Tuesday afternoon crash at the intersection of Hwy 67 and Rice Street in Pocahontas.
Pocahontas Police have confirmed that a white SUV traveled across a turning lane was struck by a semi-truck head-on.
Authorities say the passenger of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver was airlifted to a hospital.
The semi-truck driver was not injured.
Authorities stated the highway is back open at this time.
Arkansas State Police are conducting the investigation, no names have been released at this time.
