At 10:06 pm the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department was called to a large barn fire located near the Spring River Access in Imboden.
Firefighters arrived to find several hundred round bales on fire.
Black Rock, Ravenden and Walnut Ridge fire departments were requested for assistance with the blaze.
A witness told authorities that around 9:20 pm several individuals were seen walking in the area of the barn just minutes before flames were seen coming from the scene.
Firefighters were on scene until nearly 1 am before the blaze was under control.
Trains passing through the area were stopped for hours due to the close proximity of the railroad tracks and the location of the fire.
The owner of the property was contacted by officials along with deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
Video footage from the area is being reviewed that may lead to the development of possible suspects in the fire.
