Formal charges were filed last week after a bomb threat was made on a hospital in late December.

Authorities were dispatched to White River Medical Center around 6:30 p.m., Dec. 29th after a caller told a phone operator at the hospital “I’m going to come up there and blow up the place.”

Batesville PD and hospital security personnel immediately locked down the hospital.

Authorities say they eventually discovered the phone number belonged to a female who had made previous complaints to the hospital using that same phone number.

Investigators followed information they had obtained which led to a location in Batesville and found the suspect, identified as Krystal Lynn Searcy age 32.

Authorities checked the phone in her possession and discovered a call was made to the hospital that matched the date and time the threat was received.

When the suspect was asked about the call, she first said that someone had borrowed her phone, but later admitted that she had in fact made the call.

The suspect who already on probation was taken into custody and the cell phone was seized as evidence.

She has been charged with 1st degree terroristic threatening, a felony.

Searcy’s bond was set at $20,000.
