Thursday, January 6, 2022 was another record high number of new cases in Arkansas according to the Arkansas Department of Health. 7,787 additional active cases we added today . 22 deaths added with 9,278 Arkansans losing their lives due to Covid since the beginning of the pandemic.
Hospitalizations are also up today 73 added with 892 currently hospitalized.
Governor Hutchison stated “As of last count, over 86% of COVID hospitalizations have been unvaccinated. Over 81% of new cases are also among the unvaccinated. While we continue to deal with the increased hospitalizations from Omicron, the ccvaccine is needed to help slow this increase.â€
