The Arkansas Department of Health announced that 7,488 new cases of COVID-19 were added today, January 5th, 2021. Current active cases went up 5,874 to 38,154 active cases in Arkansas. Hospitalized rates are also climbing with 819 people currently hospitalized with COVID. 128 of those being on ventilators.
The highly contagious Omicron variant has cases skyrocketing throughout the state this week.
