Curtis Dewayne Braden, age 64, of Viola faces assault on a law enforcement officer, armed criminal action, drug trafficking, delivery of a control substance (meth), possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest charges.
Authorities stated on December 29, Douglas County Missouri Sheriff Deputies along with Oregon County Sheriff Deputies initiated a traffic stop on U.S. 63 near Thayer Missouri.
A K9 alerted on something in the vehicle. Braden was asked to step outside the vehicle he fled from officers
A Deputy was injured as the suspect fled after being dragged by the vehicle. He was able to pull himself into the vehicle and stopped Braden who was then arrested.
Authorities discovered 50 grams of methamphetamine inside the truck. Braden was on probation in Arkansas for drug convictions.
