The fatal crash report was released by the Arkansas State Police in the incident that claimed the life of Sedgwick Fire Chief Wesley Adams, age 61.
According to the ASP a Ford CL 9000 Fire Truck was attempting to turn around in the roadway after clearing the scene of a previous crash on the northbound side of Hwy 63 outside Sedgwick.
Chief Adams was serving as a ground guide for the engine and attempting to stop traffic on the southbound side.
A 2015 Toyota Corolla traveling in the outside lane struck Chief Wesley Adams and then struck the passenger side front of the fire truck.
A passenger in the 2015 Toyota was listed as injured in the accident. ASP identified the passenger as Wanda L. Thornton age 78 of Walnut Ridge.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Adams was not identified in the report.
Weather conditions were reported as Clear and Dry.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. Moye Hawkins of the Arkansas State Police.
