Clay County Sheriff Terry Miller announced today that two people died on Sunday when a train crashed into their vehicle in Clay County.

Sheriff Terry Miller stated the vehicle was at a crossing on County Roads 181 and 165 just north of Corning at approximately 4:30 p.m. when a northbound train crashed into the vehicle.

According to reports, the crash caused the vehicle to catch fire, burning the two victims beyond recognition.

Sheriff Miller said the bodies will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for positive identification.
