Authorities have filed negligent homicide charges after a seriously injured victim in an accident that occurred in Fulton County on Sept 22nd passed away.
Arkansas State Police we’re dispatched to an accident with serious injuries on Hwy 62 outside Viola.
ASP stated the victim of the crash was taken to an area hospital for treatment, but the driver of the vehicle sustained fatal injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, Kathleen Gamble, age 67, was found in the driver’s seat of her vehicle, with bloodshot, watery eyes, and slurred speech.
Reports state that Gamble admitted to being under the influence of Xanax and marijuana at the scene.
Gamble was transported to a hospital for treatment of her injuries and consented to a blood draw, which was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab. Authorities stated the test returned positive for cannabinoids.
ASP found Gamble at fault for the accident based on physical evidence at the time of the crash.
Gamble has been charged with felony negligent homicide by vehicle while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, driving left of center, and careless and prohibited driving.
Gamble was arraigned in the Fulton County Circuit Court on Sept 28.
