Trial by Jury at Powhatan

​September 18th from Noon-3pm

​$5 per person

Put yourself in the place where history happened at Powhatan and join us for a Trial by Jury on Saturday, September 18th. You’ll become the judge, part of the jury, a lawyer, or maybe even the accused as we bring a court case from Powhatan’s history to life! No acting experience is needed, but participants should come ready to dive in and interact with each other. (Note due to COVID-19 restrictions, no meal is being offered with this program.) All supplies for this event are provided and pre-registration is required as a limited number of spaces is available. Ready for the verdict? Great Arkansas Clean-up

Help us keep Arkansas beautiful! Join staff at Powhatan Historic State Park for the Great Arkansas Cleanup to help preserve the beauty of our local state park. Trash bags, pickup tools and other items will be provided. Out clean-up will be focused on clearing the creeks, inlets, and ditches that run into the Black River. Come ready to get a little muddy and bring a water bottle to keep rehydrated. See you at the clean-up!

Powhatan After Dark: Lantern-Lit Townsite Tours

​October 16th, at 6pm and 8pm

​$5 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6-12, Free for kids ages 1-6

If these walls could talk, the stories they could tell… Turn out the lights and step back in time with the staff at Powhatan for a lantern-lit tour of the park on October 16th at 6pm or 8pm. Listen to the buildings as they come to life and share stories of both the ordinary and the unexplained. Whose footsteps echo in the courthouse? Why did the old church bell disappear? And what makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up in the jail? ​Townsite Tours Resume

Fridays and Saturdays at 9am and 2pm Upon Request

​$5 per adult, $3 for kids 6-12, kids under 6 free

Townsite tours are back! Ever wanted to see inside the 1840s Log Cabin or the Powhatan Jail? Join Powhatan staff on Fridays and Saturdays at 9am or 2pm for a tour and get the inside scoop on all the park’s historic buildings. These 2 hour guided tours are great for anyone who wants to learn more about Arkansas’s history and how it still matters in today’s world. Group discount rates are available for large families and groups of 15 or more upon request. Please note, tours will only be offered on Fridays and Saturdays when park workshops and other events are not being held. Have questions? Call the park at 870-878-6765 for more information.
