According to Scott Rose/Hardy Police Department on May 19, 2021 at approximately 8:45 PM the Hardy Police Department was notified that a pursuit which had started in Highland with a Highland officer was coming into Hardy. Officer Mike Himshoot in an attempt to protect citizens blocked the intersection of Highway 63 and Highway 62/412.
As the suspect vehicle described as a green pick up truck with Louisiana tags came into the intersection and after a brief stop proceeded where it then collided with a Hardy patrol vehicle driven by Officer Himshoot. The patrol vehicle was pushed partially into a steep incline of a ditch and the suspect vehicle then proceeded further down into this same ditch. Investigation concludes that after the vehicle came to a rest the suspect identified as 19 year Brendan Charlet From Pierre Part Louisiana then took his life by means of a firearm.
“All officers involved did a great job and it is very fortunate no other injuries occurred†Rose stated.
The Sharp County sheriffs department will assist with investigating this incident and Mr. Charlet’s Body will be transported to the Arkansas state crime lab.
