According to Pope County officials two women and three girls were found dead in a home in northwest Arkansas, authorities are investigating it as a homicide.

Reports state deputies responded to a call around 5 p.m. Friday evening and found the five people dead in a home in Atkins, northwest of Little Rock, according to Pope County Sheriff Shane Jones.

The deceased were between the ages of 8 and 50 years old and are all believed to have been related.

Jones stated during a short news briefing on Saturday that authorities did not immediately have a suspect and that at least some of the victims were shot. No further details were released.
The sheriff stated he believed this to be an isolated incident, and did not feel that there is any continued danger to the local public. Authorities do believe that this is domestic related according to law enforcement.

Pope County Sheriff’s Investigators along with the Arkansas State Police are investigating the deaths.
