Larry Wayne Pickett, 77, of Ravenden, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at his home.
Wayne was born September 1, 1943 in Jonesboro to Lawrence and Joyce Sitz Pickett Sparks. He married the love of his life, Brenda Meadows Pickett, in 1966.
He is preceded in death by parents, Lawrence Pickett, B.A. “Sparky†Sparks, and Joyce Sitz Sparks.
Wayne is survived by wife, Brenda Pickett of the home; daughters, Leona (Kelly) Young of Windom, TX and Leslie (Michael) Bradley of Ravenden; grandchildren, Josh (Leah) Young of Jonesboro, Amber (Gary) Cremeans of Leander, TX, Jessica Young of Windom, TX, Wes Young of Oklahoma City, OK, Heather (Rene) Cerda of Ravenden, Bailey (Jacob) Kirby of Pocahontas, and Jacob Bradley of Ravenden; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Becky Pickett of Margate, FL; and cousin, Ron Harris, who was like a brother to Wayne, of Caraway.
Wayne graduated from Caraway Central High School in 1961 and joined the Army. After Wayne and Brenda married, he went to college and graduated from ASU with dual degrees in Agriculture. Wayne served as pastor of the Caraway and Hardy Congregations of the Community of Christ Church. He also served as District President of Arkansas/Memphis District of the Church.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the St. Bernard’s Hospice nurses that took care of Wayne during this time.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 2, 2020, 12-2 P.M. at Imboden Assembly of God, with services at 2:00 P.M. with Wayne Heidelberg and John Sawyer officiating. Followed by burial at Opposition Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Josh Young, Wes Young, Gary Cremeans, Rene Cerda, Jacob Kirby, and Billy Lee, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Bradley, Garrett Cremeans, Gavin Shindler, Cary Meadows, and Dewayne Sullivan.
