Arkansas State Police released the identity of a man killed in a fiery crash on US 67.
We first reported this accident on Tuesday, Oct. 13th at the 111 mile marker of US 67 near Alicia. Units from Walnut Ridge Fire, Walnut Ridge Police, Lawrence County and Arkansas State Police arrived to find a fully involved vehicle fire with one person still in the vehicle. Early reports could not confirm if one or multiple people were inside the vehicle, it wasn’t until firefighters extinguished the flames that investigators could conclude one one victim was inside the vehicle. 
Carter K. Blanton age 19 of Huntington, Texas, was identified as the driver of the northbound vehicle when he lost control of his 2003 Chevrolet.

The ASP reported the vehicle ran off the road, overturned before catching on fire.

Blanton’s body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for positive identification. The Arkansas State Police conducted the investigation.
