At 6:47 pm the Lawrence County Dispatch received multiple calls reporting a vehicle fire on Hwy 67 near the 111 mile marker.
Walnut Ridge Fire, Walnut Ridge Police, Hoxie Police, Lawrence County Deputies, ProMed and Medic One ambulance were immediately dispatched to the scene.Â
Units arrived to find the vehicle completely engulfed in flames. Early reports from the scene stated that more than one person was still inside the vehicle and indicated no survivors.Â
Medical helicopters were called for but later cancelled by medics. The Lawrence County Coroner was contacted at 7:20 pm.Â
The accident is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police. We will update information as it is released by the ASP.
