Authorities in Randolph County are reporting several structures damaged including a house being severely damaged and an agriculture shop destroyed following Thursday’s storm. Randolph County authorities say a house located on Highway 328 West in Maynard suffered major roof damage and a farm shop located just off of U.S. 67 was destroyed.
Utility crews worked through the night and into Friday repairing power lines in the area specifically in the area surrounding Maynard, Biggers, and Reyno.
Thursday night reports of trees and power lines knocked down along with farming equipment being overturned.
A grocery store and restaurant in Reyno was also reportedly damaged along with power in the area being out.
Randolph County Office of Emergency Management, stated the damage could have been much worse.
Thankfully no injuries or deaths were reported in the storms.
The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-2 Tornado did touch down in Randolph County during the storms created by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Laura as it passed through our area.
