Independence County is reporting the arrest of 50 year old Michelle D. Reins on August 16th after authorities were called to a residence where Reins was causing a disturbance.

Authorities arrived to find Reins had driven herself to the residence to confront the son of the homeowner. After throwing rocks and kicking the door of the residence authorities were called.

Upon arrival law enforcement encountered Reins, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Reins made comments indicating she may be suicidal, officers requested an ambulance to check on her well being but she denied saying the comments and refused treatment.

She then attempted to get into her vehicle and leave the scene. At this point she was detained by the deputy, she then kicked the deputy several times and spit in his eyes. Reins was arrested and charged with Felony Aggravated Assault On A Law Enforcement Officer along with public intoxication and resisting arrest.

She could face up to 6 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted. Her bond was set at $20,000.

Reins has multiple precious convictions out of several counties including Independence, Izard and Randolph for domestic assault, disorderly conduct and several alcohol related charges.
