Jaylane Joslin, age 29 of Alicia is currently being at held the Lawrence County Detention Center in Walnut Ridge awaiting formal charges as the investigation continues into the death of his partner, Kelsey Brooks Joslin.

The body of the missing Lawrence County woman, Kelsey Brooks Joslin was discovered on the property of the Joslin’s residence on Lawrence 739 near Alicia Monday afternoon, August 10th, 2020.
Kelsey was reportedly last seen on Saturday. On Sunday, when family and friends could not reach her the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office was contacted to do a welfare check.
Deputies arrived on scene on the evening of August the 9th and attempted to make contact with Jay Joslin at the residence concerning Kelsey’s whereabouts. Deputies reported a male subject who looked through the blinds of the home then turned out the lights in the residence and refused to answer the door. Additional units from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office were requested to the scene, An ambulance from Medic One was placed on standby near the residence. Officers using their PA system hailed the subject requesting the person inside the house come to the door.
This took place for well over an hour before Jay Joslin Eventually opened the door to talk to deputies. Consent was given by Joslin to look inside the residence. Kelsey was no where to be found.
As the investigation continued into Monday, law enforcement returned to the residence and by Monday evening Jay Joslin had been detained and the Lawrence County coroner was called to the scene. Kelsey’s body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime laboratory where an autopsy will be performed to determine cause of death. The Arkansas State Police is assisting the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office in this investigation.
