ASP reports two people were killed in a two vehicle accident Sunday evening in Independence County. The ASP report stated that 40 year old Gilberto Villatoro-Ochoa of Newark and 45 year old Dorothy Childress of Batesville were both killed when a vehicle driven by 21 year old Okoya Ward crossed the centerline and hit a vehicle driven by Ochoa. Ward and a passenger in the Ochoa vehicle, 23 year old Amber Dent of Batesville were both injured and were taken to White River Medical Center. The accident happened on Hwy 69.

The second accident reports a man from Jonesboro was killed in an accident in Independence County overnight. 24 year old Jonathan Easley was killed and 23 year old Brandon Bishop of Charlotte and 23 year old Cameron Owens of Jonesboro were both injured when Bishop slid off the road and hit an embankment. Both Bishop and Owens were taken to White River Medical Center for treatment. The accident happened at the 1500 block of Coon Creek Lane according to Arkansas State Police.
