Lawrence Hubbard of Lake City (formerly of Jackson County) was arrested last night after a brief car chase and foot pursuit that started in Hoxie and ending in Walnut Ridge. Around 8:40 pm the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call of a vehicle in Hoxie driving reckless with no lights through the city. Hoxie officers converged on the area trying to intercept the vehicle as it entered Walnut Ridge and turned on Main Street.
The vehicle was soon spotted by Walnut Ridge Officers who stated the vehicle refused to stop. A brief chase ensued the went down side streets and through residential yards before the suspect crashed out and exited his vehicle. A short foot pursuit was followed by a quick arrest of the suspect.
Hubbard was charged with DWI, Felony Fleeing, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, no insurance, driving on suspended, criminal mischief and criminal trespassing. Lawrence Hubbard was also found to have other outstanding warrants and a lengthy criminal history. Hubbard was also on active parole.
Cook’s Wrecker Service removed the vehicle, no injuries were reported in the incident.
Hubbard was taken to the Lawrence County Detention Center where he will be given a bond hearing and formal court date.
