61 year old James Sartorelli has been identified as the victim in last weeks homicide that occurred outside Smithville. Investigators allegedly have a person of interest and have conducted interviews. Sartorelli was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lawrence County Coroner, his body was sent to the state crime lab. Details are still coming in, here’s what we know. Around 10 am Thursday the Lawrence County Dispatch was advised of a body discovered in a camper located on a private road off Lawrence 274 outside Smithville . Reports from the scene indicated a large amount of blood around the subject who was believed to be deceased. A medical unit from ProMed ambulance was dispatched along with a deputy to the scene.
At 10:12 am LCSO Deputies arrived on scene and advised the scene was safe for medical personnel to approach. The Lawrence County Coroner was requested along with the Lawrence County Criminal Investigators.
The scene is still being processed at this time, Lawrence County CID has also been joined by investigators from the Arkansas State Police.
We have no further information but have contacted the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Investigators requesting an update when developments become available.

2nd Update:
The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office released limited information on today’s death investigation near Smithville.
According to the media release the sheriffs office confirmed that a body was discovered at 50 Lawrence 2741 outside Smithville. LCSO stated more information would be released once next of kin notification was complete.
Lawrence County CID is being assisted by the Arkansas State Police according to the release.
