A warrant was issued after a Randolph County Judge found probable cause to arrest and charge 22 year old Eric Michael Thomas of Pocahontas with rape. Thomas is accused of raping a 13 year old female, the charge is a Class Y Felony.
The charges stem from results of an investigation of an incident where Thomas pushed her down in a bed and forcibly raped her. Afterward the victim stated Thomas grabbed her by the throat and threatened her if she told anyone.
During initial questioning in March Thomas denied having sex with the 13 year old but as the investigation continued he later admitted “he knew it was wrongâ€and “he knew she was too young†according to investigators.
Thomas is being held in the Randolph County Detention Center on a $75,000 cash bond.
