27 year old, Cody Burton was arrested on Wednesday and charged with 3rd degree domestic battery. At 5:35 pm on Wednesday Lawrence County dispatch received a call from a female on Jones Avenue in Hoxie reporting that she had been assaulted by Cody Burton. The female also claimed that Burton was intoxicated and warned officers of his aggressive behavior. Hoxie Police responded and were assisted by Walnut Ridge PD and Lawrence County deputies who arrived at the residence at 5:41 pm.
Burton was taken into custody and charged with 3rd degree domestic battery. Burton is being held in the Lawrence County detention center awaiting a court date and bond hearing.
