At 10:03 pm an Arkansas State trooper notified Lawrence County dispatch of a black Chevy pick up truck with Tennessee tags that had fled from a traffic stop in the area of Hwy 117 north of Black Rock. The pursuit traveled through Black Rock headed south on Hwy 63, the suspect vehicle was said to be passing in no passing zones at speeds at over 90 miles per hour.

The Black Rock police department entered the pursuit as it traveled from Black Rick towards Portia. The Lawrence County sheriff’s office converged on the area of Hwy 412 west and the 63 intersection as the pursuit continued south towards Hoxie. Walnut Ridge PD and Hoxie PD were notified and en route to assist. At 10:07 pm the Arkansas State Police successfully performed a PIT maneuver disabling the suspects vehicle just north of Hoxie. At 10:08 pm officers had two black male suspects at gunpoint. The suspects were taken into custody without further incident.

One of the two suspects had outstanding warrants for larceny/ theft of property. Neither suspect had a valid driver’s license. Formal charges from this incident are pending.
