Davidsonville 2019 Events: Spring Break and March Events
Tall Tales and Bad Jokes
Friday, March 15, 2019- 7:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Meeting Place: Campground Fire Ring
“Now this is no bull…” Join us for a campground program all about stretching the truth, exaggerations, and
whoppers so big you’ll chuckle all the way home as we look at the history of tall tales and bad jokes. We’ll laugh,
we’ll groan, and we’ll come away with a little bit of knowledge about what makes these facets of our society so loved and hated. Bring your worst bad joke; you won’t want to let this program be the one that got away.
Native Tools and Weapons
Saturday, March 16, 2019- 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Meeting Place: Visitor Center Back Porch
Ever thrown a tomahawk? Shot a bow? And where did that meat on the dinner table come from? Roll up your
sleeves and stop by Davidsonville to toss tomahawks, throw spears, and learn how to use an atlatl in this fun
program for all ages.
Owl Prowl
Saturday, March 16, 2019- 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Meeting Place: Visitor Center Porch
Half the park is after dark. Join Park Interpreter Geoffrey at the visitor center for a sunset hike and owl prowl around Davidsonville. Learn about the nocturnal hunters who call the park home, listen to their calls, and perhaps catch a glimpse of an owl making its nightly rounds. Please bring flashlights and wear close-toed shoes.
Kids’ Craft and Parent’s Morning Out
Sunday, March 17, 2019- 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Meeting Place: Education Center
Join Park Interpreter Geoffrey for a few hours and we’ll get crafty using all sorts of fun and interesting leather working materials. Kids will get the chance to make a bracelet and decorate it as much as they want.
