Around 9:00 pm on Thursday, Lawrence County dispatch received a 911 call reporting a two vehicle head on accident with one vehicle engulfed in flames. The accident was reported on Highway 412 east about two miles.  Walnut Ridge Police, Walnut Ridge Fire Department, and Medic One Ambulance were dispatched to the scene. A patrolman from the Walnut Ridge PD was the first on scene and immediately requested an additional three to four ambulances.  Medical units from Randolph and Craighead county responded to the area.

At 9:13 pm the Lawrence County coroner was requested to the scene.  Medic One ambulance transported one patient to a landing zone, that patient was flown to Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.  AET ambulance transported an 8 year old female and an adult male to St. Bernard’s in Jonesboro. A forty-one year old female was transported to Lawrence Memorial by Pro Med ambulance then transferred to a medical helicopter and flown to a Memphis Hospital.

As of 10:36 pm Walnut Ridge Fire Department and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s department is still on scene and traffic is being diverted around the area.

‘The accident is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police. The victims names haven’t been released at this time.
