A pursuit which began in Randolph County shortly before midnight entered Lawrence County after Randolph County Deputies attempted to stop a White Dodge pickup truck for a traffic violation.
Lawrence County Dispatch was notified at 11:53 pm on Monday night that the pursuit was entering Lawrence County at a high rate of speed. The unidentified suspect was on Lawrence 416 pursued by Randolph County Deputies and joined by several Lawrence County units.
For the next half hour units closed off roads and slowly began to box the suspect in. The suspect vehicle was reportedly using field roads on private property to elude police.
Hoxie PD, Walnut Ridge PD, Black Rock PD and Greene County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted with the pursuit.
Spike strips were set up around the perimeter by several agencies in an attempt to end the pursuit.
At 12:19 am Lawrence County Deputies notified the Lawrence County Dispatch that the suspect had wrecked out and hit a ditch. Within moments the suspect was in custody and transferred to a Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputy and returned to Randolph County.
The vehicle was towed back to Randolph County, no injuries were reported. The suspects name has not been released at this time.
