At approximately 11:10 pm Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting an accident between a semi truck and a small SUV. Multiple ambulances along with Portia, Hoxie, and Walnut Ridge Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene. The accident was reported to be on Hwy. 63 at the Running Water bridge. Early reports stated that smoke and fire was seen coming from the semi. At 11:13 pm Hoxie Police was on the scene of the accident, shortly after that fire fighters extinguished the fire from the vehicle.

The Lawrence County sheriff’s office was assisted by Portia, Hoxie, and Walnut Ridge Fire Departments. A fuel spill was reported from the semi truck. Chris Jones with Lawrence County OEM responded to the accident. No injuries were reported.  Cook’s wrecker service was requested to the scene to remove both vehicles.
